Ask the Questions you're Afraid to Ask

A live, judgment-free Q&A for people living with OCD

Some OCD questions don’t feel curious.
They feel dangerous.

Event details

Format: Live virtual session

Date & Time: February 25 from 7-8pm

Participation: Anonymous questions, optional attendance-only

Some OCD questions don’t feel curious.
They feel dangerous.

You might worry that asking them will:

  • Make the fear worse
  • Confirm something you’re terrified is true
  • Reveal something about you that can’t be undone

So you keep them to yourself. And carry them alone.

This event exists because those questions are incredibly common in OCD—and because avoiding them often keeps the cycle going.

If you’ve been quietly carrying questions you’re afraid to ask, this space is for you.

You don’t have to do this alone.

What This Event is

Ask the Questions You’re Afraid to Ask is a live, therapist-led Q&A designed for people with OCD who feel stuck, overwhelmed, or afraid to say certain things out loud.

You can submit questions anonymously and listen without participating.
There’s no pressure to share, speak, or “feel better” by the end.

Just clear, evidence-based answers from therapists who specialize in OCD.

What kinds of questions are we talking about?

People often ask things like:

  • What if my thoughts mean something about who I really am?
  • What if ERP makes me worse, or I’m doing it wrong?
  • Why didn’t therapy work before?
  • What if I secretly want the things I’m afraid of?
  • If reassurance isn’t helpful, what am I supposed to do instead?

If you’ve ever thought, “I can’t ask that,” you’re not alone, and you’re likely not the only one thinking it.

How this will be handled

We want to be clear about what to expect.

  • Questions are answered thoughtfully and carefully, without judgment
  • We don’t offer reassurance or quick fixes
  • We explain the why behind OCD patterns and ERP
  • We use plain, human language—not clinical jargon
  • Nothing you ask will shock us

This is a space for understanding, not proving anything about yourself.

Who This is For

This event may be a good fit if you:

  • Have OCD (diagnosed or strongly suspected)
  • Feel exhausted from managing thoughts on your own
  • Have tried therapy or ERP before and still have doubts
  • Are afraid your questions are “too much” or “too strange”
  • Want honest answers without being dismissed or rushed

You don’t need to be ready to change anything yet.
Listening is enough.

Who it’s led by

This session is led by clinicians who specialize in OCD-specific, evidence-based treatment, including Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP).

We work with OCD every day. We understand how convincing, frightening, and isolating it can feel; and we also know what research and clinical experience show can help.

What this event is not

To help you decide, here’s what this event does not do:

  • It does not diagnose
  • It does not replace therapy
  • It does not promise symptom relief
  • It does not require participation

The goal is clarity, not certainty.

A note before you decide

If part of you wants to attend and part of you is scared, that’s very common with OCD.

You don’t have to figure anything out before coming.
You don’t have to ask a question.
You don’t have to leave feeling different.

You’re simply invited to listen, learn, and see what resonates.
